Q. What is a custom spray tan?
A. A custom spray tan is the most realistic looking sunless tan. The results are an even, natural, flawless, healthy tan, which lasts about 7-10 days. This system eliminates streaks, orange hands and feet, blotchy patches and dirty looking knees and elbows.
Q. How does spray tanning work?
A. A trained professional will spray the special tanning formula onto your body.The amino acids on your skin's surface will respond naturally to the DHA and other complementing ingredients in the tanning formula to produce the most beautiful sunless tan you've ever seen.
Q. Is it Safe?
A. Yes. The main ingredient in our sunless tanning product is known as dihydroxyacetone (DHA). DHA is a simple non-toxic sugar. It is often derived from plant sources such as sugar beets and sugar cane.
Q. How long does a spray tan last?
A. The average result is 7-10 days of color. Factors such as skin type, activities, and maintenance can cause results to vary.
Q. How long does it take to apply?
A. An average session takes about 10 to 20 minutes to apply (excluding set up and takedown time).
Q. Will it leave behind a mess?
A. No. Due to the state of the art equipment there is very little over-spray. Additionally, each spray tan expert is equipped with a standing tent that contains all spraying activity while tanning each client.
Q. How can I maintain my GLOW color all year round?
A. As your skin naturally exfoliates, your tan will start to fade. At this point you can start the preparation and application all over. See the GLOW handout for Pre-Tan Prep.
Preparation:
Exfoliate your skin prior to your GLOW airbrush tanning session (preferably the night before) to remove dead skin cells from the first layer of skin where the sunless airbrush tan will be applied. Exfoliation prior to your GLOW sunless airbrush tanning session promotes even coverage and lengthens the duration of your tan by removing dead skin that would otherwise flake off.
Wear dark loose fitting clothing to your GLOW sunless airbrush tanning session. The cosmetic bronzer in the sunless airbrush tanning solution may rub off on clothing, however it will wash out of most fabrics except for leather, nylons and silks.
There should be nothing on your skin at the time of your GLOW sunless airbrush spray tan; includes sweat, make-up, perfume/cologne, deodorant and moisturizer. You want to ensure that there's no barrier preventing the sunless airbrush spray tan from working as it should.
Shave at least 8 hours prior to your GLOW sunless airbrush tanning appointment.
Wax at least 24 hours prior to your GLOW sunless airbrush tanning appointment.
Please notify GLOW Mobile Airbrush Tanning if you've recently had a chemical peel or have been using any type of intense chemical compound from your dermatologist.
Maintenance:
For best results, use Fantasy Tan’s Skin Care Line when maintaining your tan. These specially formulated products will help you develop and maintain healthy skin and a gorgeous tan.
Wait at least 8-12 hours before washing the tanning formula off.
Apply moisturizer morning and evening after your post-tan shower. (Avoid moisturizers with AHA because they promote exfoliation.)
Avoid long hot showers and baths, and scrubbing the skin excessively. Pat your skin dry after bathing or showering.
Chlorine in swimming pools and jacuzzi's will shorten the length of your tan.
